What is Balayage?
[ bah-ley-ahzh ]
A technique of coloring hair in which the stylist applies the color by hand to create natural-looking, graduated layers of highlights with a less apparent regrowth line than in traditional highlighting.
I specialize in TRADITIONAL BALAYAGE (not foilyage) and use a clay based lightener when painting highlights. This is a gentle lightener that dries into a clay shell after being applied. Once fully dry, it stops working. This lends to a more natural, “sunkissed” look. I always tell people “You’ll like it the first time. You’ll love it the second time.” After 2-3 applications is when you get that really beautiful multidimensional color - with highs and lows and mid tones in between. If you are a brunette and want white blonde highlights - balayage is not for you. If you’d like your hair color to look the way it did when you were a child - get in touch.
